| Fundraising |
| |
| There
is no other fundraising project which is not only tightly aligned with the school
curriculum but actually takes it to a new level. |
| |
| Compared
with other fundraising activities like raffle tickets and selling food, a
School Press Book project requires very little volunteer time and minimal effort from teachers and school administrators. Teachers
can easily fit the writing tasks into the normal curriculum and they don't have to be restricted to subjects which focus on literacy. There are creative
moments in every subject which can be turned into words and captured in
a School Press Book. |
| |
It is simple for the fundraising committee
to run and requires minimal effort from parents, school teachers and Principals.
With the possibility of almost every student being represented, the book will
literally sell itself. Parents will often buy multiple copies of
School Press books to proudly present to friends and relatives. Festive
seasons, important community celebrations, Mother's Day and Father's Day are some
of the more obvious reasons for the release of a School Press Book project.
|
| |
| In some circumstances the school might want to sell the book for
more than the School Press recommended price. All the extra money goes straight
to the school. |
